On
Tuesday May 1, 2007, the RULH Anatomy Class performed community
service projects around Front Street in Ripley. They were
joined by village employees who helped clean up and mow the
park area in front of Co-Hearts Riverhouse. The students worked
weeding flower beds, sculpting beds with Ohio River rocks
they found on the riverbank, and planting annuals and perennials.
Learn and Serve America provided the funds for the transportation
for this project. The main goal of Learn and Serve America
is to provide funding for integrating service learning into
regular classroom curriculum. The RULH High School is a “Model
School” for Learn and Serve Ohio.
