Student Leaders Take on “Pennies For Pam Project.”

Kristi Scott , Ripley

Following a successful memorial bowling fundraiser at Maloney’s Community Lanes for the Pam Crawford’s Scholarship Fund, senior Ryan Fultz and junior Hannah Spiller (pictured below) are beginning the final leg of a goal to raise $10,000.00. These students are among the many students in the RULH Learn and Serve Ohio “Model School” District who will be participating in this community service project. The students will kickoff the fundraiser in the next few weeks. They will be asking students in all three schools to donate their pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars to reach their personal goal of $750.00. “That will take the fund to $10,000.00,” stated Ms. Kristi Scott local project director of the Learn and Serve America grant. Pam Crawford was an icon in the RULH district. She served as secretary for over 30 years and worked tirelessly over her career to help many people. Pam was not only devoted to her job, but also to her community. She performed many community service projects, the last being raising funds for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. If you are interested in helping these student leaders, please send you donation to First State Bank, earmarked “Pennies for Pam.”
