Mac Tools Donates Tool Box for Crawford’s Memorial Scholarship Bowl-A-Thon

Kristi Scott , Ripley

Learn and Serve America students at the RULH School District will host a Bowl-A-Thon in memory of Pam Crawford, Sunday February 15 at the Community Lanes in Georgetown. All proceeds will go to the Pam Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund and donations are tax deductible. Local students will apply for the first scholarship this year. The RULH School District is a “Model School for Learn and Serve America and students in the district perform hundreds of community service projects throughout the year.

Pam Crawford dedicated her life to the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington School District. She began working for the district following graduation from Ripley High School. She had been employed for thirty-two years and planned to retire soon.

Pam was very civic minded. Just last year she helped Jenny Cahall raise funds for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. She worked tirelessly for the Kayla Ruark Scholarship Fund. She took personal days from school, not for herself, but to work for others. Pam was generous, funny and always so full of energy. That energy all went to others in need. She is greatly missed by her family and friends.

The Bowl-A-Thon begins at 1:00 and ends at 4:00. Mac Tools has generously donated a 13 drawer storage system estimated to be valued at over $1,000.00. The tool chest will be part of the silent auction prizes. Mac Tools has been a member of our community for years and is a wonderful neighbor and friend to all of us and to this worthy cause. The tool box is the perfect solution for technicians and for home use. It is a dependable piece of equipment with ball-bearing track slides and every cubic inch provides quality service. The tool box is available for viewing at the Community Lanes. Other prizes include two brand new bicycles, cameras and many more gifts donated by local merchants. A list of all those who donated will appear in the paper following the event.

A donation of $10.00 per person will be collected for the Bowl-A-Thon. That covers shoes and bowling for three hours. There will homemade baked goods to purchase. These homemade goodies are being made by the teachers and staff of the RULH School District.
